It is always difficult to locate the history of each single Alfa Romeo chassis, but it appears that chassis 10580-023 was sold in 1973 by Autodelta S.p.a. to the Weiss-Siam company in Milan, responsible for importing Koni shock absorbers into Italy. The car, which remained in a private collection in its original state for 30 years, was restored during the 2000’s by its third owner. In 2012, it was purchased by the current owner at the biennial RM Auctions Monaco sale. The chassis number, 10580-023, is different from the one commonly used for the "33" (75080-xxx) and it seem that this system has been used to avoid to Autodelta to paying too much taxes.
It is likely that # 023 was one of the cars built in 1970 and used during the season at Targa Florio by Umberto Maglioli and Nanni Galli and Le Mans by Rolf Stommelen and Nanni Galli. This pushed the current owner to finish the car in his Le Mans livery with a yellow nose, retaining the original red paint. |
E’ sempre difficile individuare alla storia di ogni singolo telaio Alfa Romeo ma sembra che il telaio 10580-023 fu venduto nel 1973 da Autodelta S.p.a. alla società Weiss-Siam di Milano, responsabile dell'importazione degli ammortizzatori Koni in Italia. L’auto, rimasta in una collezione privata nello stato originale per 30 anni, è stata restaurata durante gli anni 2000 dal suo terzo proprietario. Nel 2012, è stata acquistata dall'attuale proprietario alla biennale RM Auctions Monaco. Il numero di telaio, 10580-023 è diverso da quelli comunemente usati per le “33” (75080-xxx) e pare che sia stato utilizzato questo sistema per evitare all’Autodelta di pagare troppe tasse.
E’ probabile che la #023 sia stata una delle auto costruite nel 1970 e utilizzata durante la stagione alla Targa Florio da Umberto Maglioli e Nanni Galli e a Le Mans da Rolf Stommelen e Nanni Galli. Questo ha spinto l’attuale proprietario a rifinire l'auto nella sua livrea di Le Mans con il muso giallo, conservando la vernice rossa originale. |
