The Alpine A110 1800S / 16V Group 5 was built as a one-off by Renault in 1974 to compete in the 1975 Tour de France Automobile. The car was equipped with a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder, sixteen-valve engine with double camshaft. Powered by two 45 'double-barrel Weber carburettors. The engine was capable of developing nearly 200 hp at 8000 rpm pushing the car, that weighed only 720 kg to over 210 km / h. Alain Serpaggi was the driver who actively participated in the development of the car which unfortunately, for technical reasons, did not participate in the 1975 Tour de France. On 8 and 9 May 1976 the Alpine A110 1800S Group 5 participated with Bruno Saby in the "Ronde Limousine" race on asphalt included in the French rally championship, where he dominated the competition but finished only third overall, due to a puncture. In 2009, during the final of the French championship "Historic Vehicles Competition" the car suffered a catastrophic accident from which it was demolished, with the crew fortunately unharmed. In the winter of 2009-2010, a complete restoration brought it back to its original condition.
