The American car maker Mosler, in 2000 presented the Mosler MT900R, a competition version of the contemporary MT900. The design of the Mosler MT900 was by Rod Trenne, hence the initials MT, Mosler Trenne and 900, which referred to the weight of the car. The car had a carbon fiber chassis and a middle mounted 5.7-litre LS6 Chevrolet V8 engine, mated to a ZF gearbox. The debut took place at the 2001 24 Hours of Daytona and later took part in the entire Grand-Am Road Racing Championship in 2001, 2002 and 2003, the year in which the Mosler MT900R was also successfully used in the British GT championship with the teams Rollcentre and Balfe. In 2004 the same teams again participated in the British GT series and in 2005 the Balfe team participated in the FIA GT Championship in the GT2 class, albeit without scoring points due to lack of homologation. Mosler MT900Rs continued to participate in the British GT championship and other international series until 2013.

La casa americana Mosler, nel 2000 presentò la Mosler MT900R, versione da competizione della contemporanea MT900. La MT900R fu progettata da Rod Trenne, da cui la sigla MT, Mosler Trenne e 900, che faceva riferimento al peso della vettura. La vettura aveva un telaio in fibra di carbonio e un motore Chevrolet V8 LS6 da 5,7 litri montato in posizione centrale, accoppiato a un cambio ZF. Il debutto avvenne alla 24 ore di Daytona del 2001 e in seguito prese parte a tutto il Grand-Am Road Racing Championship nel 2001, 2002 e 2003, anno in cui la Mosler MT900R fu impiegata con successo anche nel campionato GT britannico con i team Rollcentre e Balfe. Nel 2004 le stesse squadre parteciparono ancora alla serie GT britannica e nel 2005 il team Balfe partecipò al Campionato FIA GT nella classe GT2, seppure senza ottenere punteggio a causa della mancanza di omologazione. Le Mosler MT900R continuarono a partecipare al campionato GT britannico e ad altre serie internazionali fino al 2013.
