GB
The Porsche 908 was born in 1970. Its tubular chassis was derived from that of the 909 "Bergspyser", designed for hill-climb and extremely lightweight. The engine was the eight-cylinder air cooled boxer of 908/01 and the overall weight of the car was 540 kg. The 908/03 was particularly effective on winding tracks, being very easy to handle due to its low weight. In 1970 the Porsche 908/03 scored the first and second place at the Targa Florio with Joseph Siffert and Brian Redman on the chassis 008 and Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen on the 009 chassis. The 008 also won the 1000Km of Nurburgring in 1970 with Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens and in 1971 with Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse, contributing to the conquest of Porsche's two world titles (1970 and 1971). The car in the photos is the one with chassis 001 , used only for development tests and never in race, kept until the 90's by Porsche. It was later purchased by Miller Historic Motorcars, restored and painted with the Gulf Racing colours of the Targa Florio of 1971.

IT

Brian Redman, an icon of high-risk and passionate racing. This biography of the English Champion is really a spectacular jump back in the time in a period between the years 60 and 80, where the races were really very dangerous and every mistake almost always paid very salty (today much less). Who better than Mr.Redman could tell this period lived in first person driving and winning with sometimes terrifying cars like the Porsche 917, the Ford GT40, the F.5000 in Europe and North America and the fast Chevron Sport just to name a few and sharing the tracks and often the cockpit with great champions like Siffert, Rodríguez, Ickx, Andretti, Hobbs, just to name a few. Written in English, this book accompanied by many beautiful photographs is absolutely unmissable written well and with passion, sometimes it's funny, sometimes runs away a tear.
