The Porsche 908-03 chassis 011 was built in 1970 and entrusted to John Wyer's team to participate in that year's world marque championship. The semi-official Gulf-JW Automotive Racing team entered the car in the Targa Florio, where it was driven by Richard Attwood and Björn Waldegård and finished fifth overall. The next race was the Nürburgring 1000 Km at the end of May where, the chassis 011, driven by Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen, set the second fastest time in practice. In the race, on the twelfth lap, Leo Kinnunen went off the track at Karussell, ending the first life of chassis 011. After the Nürburgring, the car was taken to the Porsche research centre in Weissach, near Stuttgart where it was dismantled and the chassis stored in warehouse.
At the end of the 1970s, the German gentleman driver Siegfried Brunn bought chassis 011 from Porsche and had the car rebuilt by equipping it with the 2142cc 6-cylinder turbocharged Porsche 911/78 engine. In 1982, Brun himself drove the car both in the German Sport Championship (DRM) and in some races of the Interserie. In November 1982 the car participated at the  Kyalami 9 hours, driven by Alain De Cadenet, Jean-Michel Martin and Giorgio Pianta, finishing sixth overall. In 1983 the car participated in some races of the German Sports Championship and the English Thundersports series. In this very series, Derek Bell and Siegfried Brunn took victory in the Brands Hatch race on April 1983.

Brian Redman, an icon of high-risk and passionate racing. This biography of the English Champion is really a spectacular jump back in the time in a period between the years 60 and 80, where the races were really very dangerous and every mistake almost always paid very salty (today much less). Who better than Mr.Redman could tell this period lived in first person driving and winning with sometimes terrifying cars like the Porsche 917, the Ford GT40, the F.5000 in Europe and North America and the fast Chevron Sport just to name a few and sharing the tracks and often the cockpit with great champions like Siffert, Rodríguez, Ickx, Andretti, Hobbs, just to name a few. Written in English, this book accompanied by many beautiful photographs is absolutely unmissable written well and with passion, sometimes it's funny, sometimes runs away a tear.
