Dar Pomorza Gdynia, Poland
The Dar Pomorza anchored at the Southern Pier at Gdynia is commonly considered to be one of the most beautiful tall ships in the world. Built in 1909, it became Polish property 20 years later. The ship was purchased owing to the funds obtained from the donations made by the inhabitants of the Pomerania Province for the needs of the Maritime School in Gdynia. The ship was named Dar Pomorza (Gift of Pomerania) as expression of thanks to the donors. After the war, the frigate was used as a training ship for the future officers of Polish merchant fleet. In the 70s of the 20th c., Dar Pomorza took part in The Tall Ship’s Races in which it won numerous prizes. In 1982, the ship was passed over to the Central Maritime Museum in Gdansk and thrown open to the public a year later.

La nave è stata nominata Dar Pomorza (Dono della Pomerania) come espressione di ringraziamento ai donatori. Dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, la fregata è stata utilizzata come nave da addestramento per i futuri ufficiali della flotta mercantile polacca. Negli anni '70 del XX secolo, Dar Pomorza ha partecipato alle gare delle Tall Ship nelle quali ha vinto numerosi premi. Nel 1982, la nave fu ceduta al Museo Marittimo Centrale di Danzica e fu esposta al pubblico un anno dopo.
