This car, chassis GT/111 roadster, were sent in the preliminary tests of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on April 10, 1965, where he presented with a bright white livery and at the wheel the new official driver John Whitmore. Withmore achieved a 3'50 "lap time, discreet but slower than the worst of the GT 40 coupe version. It was therefore decided not to run the car at Le Mans but to sign Targa Florio on May 5, 1965. Sir John Whitmore was joined by American Bob Bondurant and the car was repainted green. The roadster was fast enough in practice but in the races there were mechanical problems, and on lap five a knock-off spinner came undone and Whitmore lost a front wheel and ran out of the way.  Withmore recovered the wheel, but couldn’t find the spinner, which had been taken by a spectator. In the end a policeman threatened the spectator, who reluctantly handed it over. The car was then in a state of restart, but handling was compromised. However, Bondurant gave Whitmore a change, but he went out of the way ruinously. The car was shipped to England, and although it could be repaired, it was soon forgotten until it was decided to demolished, but it was never executed. The monocoque chassis was cut into two pieces and brought to the store of a scraper, who, despite being busy demolishing everything, hid the pieces in the garage. After more than 40 years, the car was found and restored.

Questa vettura, il telaio GT/111 roadster, è stato inviato alle prove preliminari della 24 ore di Le Mans il 10 aprile 1965, dove si presentò con una livrea bianca brillante e con al volante il nuovo pilota ufficiale John Whitmore. Withmore realizzò un giro in 3’50”, tempo discreto ma più lento della peggiore delle GT 40 versione coupé. Fu deciso pertanto di non far correre la vettura a Le Mans ma di iscriverla Targa Florio del 5 maggio 1965. A Sir John Whitmore fu affiancato l’americano Bob Bondurant e la vettura fu riverniciata di verde. La roadster si dimostrò abbastanza veloce nelle prove ma in gara presto comparvero problemi meccanici e al quinto giro un gallettone saltò via e Whitmore perse una ruota anteriore e finì fuori strada. Withmore recuperò la ruota, ma non riuscì a trovare il gallettone di fissaggio, che era stato preso da uno spettatore. Alla fine un poliziotto minacciò lo spettatore, che riluttante rese il gallettone. L’auto fu poi in condizione di ripartire, ma l’assetto era compromesso. Bondurant diede comunque il cambio a Whitmore, ma uscì di strada rovinosamente. L’auto fu spedita in Inghilterra, e nonostante fosse riparabile fu presto dimenticata fino a che non si dispose la sua demolizione, che però non fu mai eseguita. Il telaio monoscocca fu tagliato in due parti e portato al deposito di un rottamaio che, nonostante si fosse impegnato a demolire il tutto, nascose i pezzi in garage. Dopo più d 40 anni, l’auto è stata ritrovata e restaurata.
