In 1975, Alain de Cadenet commissioned to the Lola Engineering, a prototype sports car featuring Ford Cosworth DFV engine to compete at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Lola built the Lola T380 in two specimens. The car, with streamlined fiberglass bodywork with a noticeable airbox, had a very traditional monocoque chassis, and front suspension, which was also conventional, consisted of upper and lower wishbones and external spring and dumper. Different was the rear suspension, with springs and shock absorbers mounted almost vertically directly on the hubs.
The first car, HU01, was used by Alain de Cadenet in 1975, running only the Le Mans 24 Hours, where, along with Chris Craft, they got the 14th place finish.
The second car, with a HU02 frame, was sold to the Italian Team Jolly Club and debuted at 1000 Km of the Nurburgring driven by Vittorio Brambilla and Giorgio Pianta. The crew departed from the tenth position of the starting grid but was forced to retire due to an accident. In 1976 the car was sold to Marco Capoferri, who used it in various competitions until mid-season in 1977, without achieving great success.

Nel 1975, Alain de Cadenet commissionò alla Lola Engineering, una vettura sport prototipo dotata di motore Ford Cosworth DFV per competere alla 24 Ore di Le Mans.
La Lola costruì, in due esemplari la Lola T380. La vettura, con una filante carrozzeria in fibra di vetro e un vistoso airbox, aveva un telaio monoscocca in alluminio, molto tradizionale e le sospensioni anteriori, anch’esse di tipo convenzionale erano composte da triangoli sovrapposti e ammortizzatore inclinato. Differente era invece la sospensione posteriore, con molle e ammortizzatori montati quasi verticalmente direttamente sui portamozzi.
La prima vettura, con telaio HU01, fu utilizzata da Alain de Cadenet nel 1975, a corse solo la 24 Ore di Le Mans, dove insieme a Chris Craft, ottennero il quattordicesimo posto finale.
La seconda vettura, con telaio HU02, fu venduta alla scuderia Italiana Jolly Club e debuttò alla 1000 Km del Nurburgring guidata da Vittorio Brambilla e Giorgio Pianta. L’equipaggio partì dalla decima posizione della griglia di partenza ma fu costretto al ritiro a causa di un incidente. Nel 1976 la vettura fu venduta a Marco Capoferri che la utilizzò in diverse competizioni fino a metà stagione 1977, senza ottenere grandi successi.
